4 pounds ground turkey
minced onions to taste
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
chopped tomatoes (about 28 ounces)
1 jar Heinz Chili Sauce
half of large jar of your favorite Marinara Sauce
4 15.5-ounce cans of your favorite beans, drained
I use black beans, pinto beans, red beans, red kidney beans, pink beans, pinto beans....
chili powder to taste
cayenne (red) pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
In a large saucepan on top of the stove, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and brown all 4 pounds. Drain the browned meat in a colander and return to pan. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally.
Chili freezes well so it's a great make ahead meal for last minute dinners. Eliminate the ground turkey and you have a perfect vegetarian chili. You can add fresh garlic, onions, and peppers if you saute them before adding to the browned turkey.
